Giancarlo Stanton is due to make his return to the Yankees Tuesday after an injury injury, and Aaron Judge is expected to return at some point during the current seat – possibly at the end of this week.
"I talked to him actually before [Sunday’s] games and he's fine," said Aaron Boone on Monday to the referee who has been out with a left oblique load. "He feels good. I think he would prefer to be back already, but I think the nature of the damage and only we have got him back, I think it is important that he get a few more games in there, where he is in the field and jumps back, runs the bases. "
When the judge is on the field with the yanks, he will usually be fine, with Stanton often left ̵
General manager Brian Cashman said despite Stanton's hoarding and calving over the past two seasons, he's not too worried that Stanton is abroad.
"When we bought [Stanton] it should not be a DH," Cashman said of the deal in December 2017 with Marlins. "He's a very athletic outfielder."
Cashman also pointed to Boone's ability to give players rest, including Stanton.
But as a judge and the newly added Encarnacion, Stanton is not in the Bronx for his glove.
"We get two more elite-level hitters," Boone said to have Stanton and the referee in the lineup. "It has a chance to be a special lineup, but that's all it is right now. We have to go out there, continue to perform, but certainly excited about the opportunities."
