Production sources tell TMZ … a male participant needed medical attention on Wednesday after completing the course, and he was used by emergency personnel who then called paramedics.
We are told that the participant was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Our law enforcement sources tell us they got a cardiac arrest just before noon on Wednesday, and medications on the set had already started using a defibrillator on the participant who experienced chest pain after completing the course.
We are told that precautions and safety measures are in place. For example, each ‘Wipeout’ participant undergoes medical examinations before participating. There are also 2 paramedics on site plus a safety manufacturer and paramedic coordinator.
‘Wipeout’ gets an upcoming restart on TBS after the original broadcast on ABC from 2008 to 2014, and TBS tells us … “We are devastated to have heard of his passing and our deepest sympathy goes out to the family.”
The production company, Endemol Shine North America, says … “We give our heartfelt condolences to the family and our thoughts are with them at this time.”
