For eight years, Chris Hemsworth has played Thor. It's been a big part of his career and we can't imagine another actor doing a better job. Hemsworth has a natural confidence that brings thunderstorms to life.
With so many iconic actors pulling away from their superhuman roles, we can't do without whether there are more stories to tell. For example, Robert Downey Jr. decided he had finished Iron Man . Chris Evans goes away from Captain America . Will anyone keep Marvel Universe alive?
In a recent interview with Comic Book Movie, Hemsworth talked about how he feels about Thor and whether he would retire like many of his fellow stars. He also explained why a few times he felt trapped by his role. Chris Hemsworth wants to reproduce his role as Thor?
Chris Hemsworth has been Thor for a while
Chris Hemsworth has thrown Thor's hammer for the better part of a decade. While it didn't start its career, it certainly helped launch him in the superstars. He's got fans from around the world from being part of Marvel Universe.
Playing Thor has also helped make him the most recognizable of the three Hemsworth brothers, something we are sure he brings up at every family reunion.
Many actors playing the same role for this long concern that they can be typecast. It is likely why many of his Marvel co-stars have decided to jump on the ship. Hemsworth, on the other hand, cannot feel the same. Of course, playing a God is not something many players can add to their CV.
Will Chris Hemsworth render his role as Thor?
During his interview, Chris Hemsworth talked about his iconic role and said he would like to see it continue.
"I still love to do more to be honest," Hemsworth explained in the interview. "I want to have opened such a different character. I feel more energetic about the possibility of where to go." He said that if that didn't happen, he could live with it. "But [if not] I will use it in other places and other signs, if it is the end here."
He also talked about how difficult a few films in the franchise were on him. He said he felt trapped because the character was not deep enough.
"After I had done Avengers and Thor 2 I felt a little caught up. It felt like I was typecast by the one who wrote the scripts," he admitted. "I feel the creators were stuck on where to go [Thor] and was it all he had to offer? I felt there was so much more we could do."
At the moment there is no word on whether Chris Hemsworth will come his way or if the creators are finished with Thor franchise. It works after Avengers: Endgame that at least there is an opportunity for another standalone film. Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok director also seems to be on board.
Another way we can expect to see Thor again is with the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. At this point, there has been no official word, but fans and more media have talked about popping up in the next movie.
As far as Hemsworth gets another Thor movie, it will probably be put in another timeline or alternative reality. Not only is Hollywood pushing many scripts about the multiverse right now, but it seems to be the only credible way to write the script, depending on who will be in the movie.
