But the announcement does not mean that everyone will return to work immediately.
KCRA 3 News spoke with Sacramento city leaders and business owners about what returning to downtown could look like.

“You have some people who need some time. Whether it’s from fear and mental health or because of their home situation. Every work environment is different. We’ve also heard from many employers looking for more space. One “Part of this is because they practice social distancing, or they have grown and expanded during this time period. We expect to see people return to these office spaces.”

“We have really missed our state worker friends, we miss our lobbyists. We miss the professionals around town who would come and have breakfast and lunch with us, you know, five days a week. Weekends are better than weekdays. But we hope “soon to see a recovery. We’ll see people seep back a bit during the week. But I still think we’re still a few weeks away from it.”
