MADISON (WKOW) – YOUR Basketball Assistant Coach Howard Moore and his son were still recovering Sunday after a deadly crash killed his wife and daughter in Michigan.
The Moores were there visiting family during the Memorial Day weekend, when a "Howard is a fantastic coach," Matt Metzger, a pastor at Blackhawk Church, said. "Howard is an even better person."
Metzger has known the Moores for years as his pastor at Blackhawk Church.
He says the Moores are a family like no other.

and Girls Club of Dane County, had known to go with Howard.
"I just felt the pull on my heart come with Howard during these trying times," Johnson said.

"I heard the news yesterday around 7 o'clock and I didn't want to believe it," Johnson said. "It just ripped my heart wide open."
Now, they know that the Moors need all the help they can get.
"They need a lot from us as a community right now," Metzger said. "He loves this city, he loves the university and he needs the prayers and support of this city, and he really has a hard time wrapping our minds around."

They said Howard was a stable condition in the ICU and his son was up and walking around.
