Unemployment demands have risen across the country.
The Department of Labor said an additional 893,000 first-time claims were filed last week. That’s 53,000 more than last week.
Despite the difficult economy, a production plant in Caro has a desperate need for workers.

“We just are not able to take on that much work because we just do not have the employees,” David Allen told Wow Plastics.
He said they are not alone.
“There is no shortage of production work out there. The shortcoming is that people run it and it becomes a big problem, ”said Allen.
Allen said the problem is far greater than just his plant.
“We have customers who trust that we deliver product. If we can not supply parts to them, they can not perform their second and third step assembly. So it slows down the whole economy, ”Allen said.

“If we do not have the employees to run the presses, it will be a big concern,” Allen said.
Allen said they have a variety of jobs for almost every level.
He said he is ready to hire as many as 15 new employees and even more after they have been trained.
“People need to know there is work out there,” Allen said.
