Ubisoft had to rewrite PS5 descriptions due to worried trolls on Twitter

Assassin's Creed Valhalla PS5 PS4

One of the nastier sides of the upcoming launches of the next generation of consoles has been the growing concern trolling that has happened on Twitter and other social media accounts. There has been far too much of this that has happened to sum up, but perhaps the most obvious example was the recurring mood that PlayStation 5 only supports backward compatibility with 100 PlayStation 4 games – a statement that was clarified several times, before it was recently put to bed.

Ubisoft released an update on the performance of its next-generation games this week, creating an interesting, albeit repetitive, report. In it, the company confirmed that upcoming titles like Assassin̵

7;s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising and Riders Republic will run at 60 frames per second. Second in 4K on Sony’s next generation console. However, there was a lot of debate about the publisher’s wording.

You see, the French company said its PS5 game would run at “4K and 60 pictures per. Second ”while using the wording 4K on 60 pictures per. Second ”when referring to the Xbox Series X. This led to wild speculation on social media that the games would offer options on Sony’s system – 4K or 60 pictures per. Second efficient – as opposed to doing both at the same time. An entry from an Xbox tab account ended up being retweeted thousands of times:

Embarrassingly, Ubisoft has now edited its blog post and replaced the original wording with the phrase “4K on 60 pictures per. Second ”also for PS5. So once all this is cleared up, we’re curious about what the next nonsense story exploding on social media will be. Suggestions for a postcard would be gratefully received at Push Square Towers.
