The top writer for Tucker Carlson, Fox News host, has retired.

Tucker Carlson has released an “update” after a segment in his Fox News show about allegations of voter fraud caused setbacks.

On Thursday night, Carlson delivered a monologue in which he discussed President Donald Trump’s lawyer Sidney Powell and her claims that rigged voting software shifted millions of votes from Trump to Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

According to Carlson, Powell refused to send him evidence supporting her claims, despite several requests from “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

“As we continued to press, she became angry and asked us to stop contacting her,” Carlson said in the Thursday segment. “When we checked with others about the Trump campaign, people in positions of authority, they told us that Powell has never given them any evidence, nor did she give anything today at the press conference.”

Earlier this month, a national coalition announced that there was no evidence that voting software deleted or changed votes in the poll. USA TODAY. The security group – which includes the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the National Association of State Election Directors – described the election as “the safest in American history.”

“There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes or was in any way compromised,” the coalition concluded.

Carlson’s comments drew backlash from Trump’s supporters online, who claimed Powell was hiding his evidence in court instead of first revealing it to the media.

The Fox News host later updated his statement about Powell in a clip shared to his Twitter account on Friday.

“An update to our reporting on Sidney Powell’s voter fraud investigation,” he wrote. “Clock.”

In the clip, Carlson said Powell’s refusal to provide evidence does not mean her claims are false.

“That does not mean it did not happen,” he said. “It may have happened. That means they have not seen any evidence that it happened. And by ‘they’ we include other members of Donald Trump’s own legal team.”

Carlson also stated that Powell has “suggested that we may not have to wait much longer” for evidence.

A Fox News official confirmed to the United States on Friday that Powell and Rudy Giuliani, another of Trump’s lawyers, had both canceled their appearances on Network’s Justice Judge Jeanine ‘hosted by Jeanine Pirro, scheduled for Saturday. .

On Thursday, Carlson devoted much of his opening monologue to discussing Powell and her “bomb shell” accusations, which, if proven, “would constitute the largest single crime in U.S. history,” he said.

Carlson added that he did not reject Powell’s claims and “has always respected her work.”

“We simply wanted to see the details,” he said. “How could you not want to see them? So we invited Sidney Powell to the show. We would have given her the whole hour. We would actually have given her the whole week and listened quietly all the time under attentive attention. That’s a great story. . “

Powell, however, refused to provide evidence, Carlson said. Although the host said he agrees with the lawyer that electronic voting “is dangerous,” “Powell” never demonstrated that a single actual voting was moved illegally by software from one candidate to another, “he added.

“We tell you this because it’s true, and in the end it’s all that matters, the truth,” Carlson continued. “It’s our only hope. It’s our best defense. And that’s how we differ from them: We do not care what is true, and we also know that you care.”

Both Carlson’s Thursday monologue and the follow-up on Friday attracted conservative criticism on Twitter.

“So @TuckerCarlson wants @ SidneyPowell1 to go on his show to discuss very sensitive evidence BEFORE they are presented in court,” wrote @RealBasedMAGA. “I’m old enough to remember when he and his staff sent very sensitive evidence via UPS … only to be ‘lost’. Good times.”

“I do not know a single lawyer who would hand over their evidence to a news outlet,” wrote @ Edward22J.

“Sidney’s reputation is impeccable,” @PamBlizzard wrote. “Tucker: Betrayal of the viewers and his profession. Done with him.”

“TUCKER CARLSON JUST COOKED HIS GOOSE BY FOLLOWING @ SidneyPowell1,” wrote @JohnMappin. “Sidney, we’re the people’s lawyer now.”
