Trump spoke to a massive crowd during a rain in Washington DC, talked about forces winning various battles against the British during that year.
"The continental army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory over the Delaware waters and seized victory from the Cornwallis of Yorktown," said Trump as he read the teleprompter in the rain.
"Our army manned the air, hit the ramps, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and in Fort McHenry during the rocket's red glare it had only victory," he continued. "And when tomorrow came, their star-studded banner waved sadly."

The Wright brothers did not invent their first powered aircraft until 1903.

Dearest Martha,
Be sure to pack our socks. We have to ride in the flying carriage while our feet are exposed.

The Washington Post noted that in addition to the airport's flub, there were several errors in Trump's speech .
Trump bragging about "Cornwallis of Yorktown's victory" did not indicate that British General Cornwallis was from London, and his forces were defeated in Yorktown.
He also mistakenly said that the continental army was named after George Washington, The Post noted. [19659004] It also emerged that Trump's speech-related struggles fought during the war of revolution in 1775 with conflict during the war of 1812.
Delaware and Yorktown's struggles occurred during the Revolutionary War, but the President continues to discuss the battle at Fort McHenry which inspired the letter of Star Spangled Banner.
The battle described in the national anthem was struck in 1814 during the war in 1812, Posten n Oted.
The president spoke for 45 minutes from the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, flanked by supporters and Pentagon officials.
The remarks were heavy on military imagery and shone on political rhetoric after weeks of setbacks for the unconventional Independence Day look.
Trump was criticized by Democrats and local officials who said his opinion was inappropriate. Many pushed back at the expense of the event and potential damage to local infrastructure. from military tanks.
