Romney was bowed Saturday at the beginning of his speech at the Utah Republican Party’s organizing conference.

Booing from the crowd got louder after Romney said he was not a fan of Trump’s “character issues.”
“You know me as a person who says what he thinks, and I do not hide the fact that I was not a fan of our last president’s character problems,” Romney said, receiving several offers before asking the audience, “Aren’t you? embarrassed? ”
The Utah GOP during the convention narrowly voted against a decision to censor Romney over his votes to convict Trump under both of his prosecutions.
The Republican senator has been a vocal critic of the former president.
Romney was also one of several GOP senators earlier this year who voted to convict Trump of inciting the deadly uprising at the US Capitol on January 6th. He also voted to convict Trump on one occasion during his 2020 indictment.
Trump has repeatedly slammed Romney, including criticizing his accusers and mocking him for participating in a Black Lives Matter march in Washington, DC, last year.
