Trump: & # 39; I had no choice but to work very long hours! & # 39;

On Sunday, President Trump claimed he was working "more hours than almost any former president."

"The media could get my work plan, something very easy to do, but it should have been reported as a positive, not negative," Trump tweeted . "When the term Executive Time is used, I generally work and do not relax. In fact, I probably work more hours than almost any former president."

He continued : "The fact is that when I took over as president , our country was a mess. Damaged military, Endless Wars, a potential war with North Korea, VA, High Taxes and too many regulations, borders, immigration and health issues, and much more, I had no choice but to work very long hours! "

Tweets come days after Axios published the more than fifty presidential daily schedules it had received from a named White House source.

The schedules showed that in the days since the 2018 mid-term election, "Trump has spent about 60% of his scheduled time … in unstructured" Executive Time. ""

Axios also noted that these hours are typically taken in the morning and used "in the home, watching television, reading the papers and responding to what he sees and reading by calling helpers, members of the congress, friends, administration officials and informal advisers. "
