AUSTIN (KXAN) – Finally, victories for nacho lovers everywhere, and at least a bit of Austin's amusement has been restored thanks to a group of cavers and the University of Texas graduates.
On Tuesdays, Austinites Sam Young, Strick Strickland and a group of friends eat together at Scholz Garten to enjoy a beer and a plate of nachos, just as they have most Tuesdays over the last 50 years.
This group remains connected around this shared space in downtown Austin and shares a plate of cheese, chips and some jalapenos. Most people started to come to Scholz when they were students at UT. After that, the group stayed together by making Tuesday night a weekly tradition with young people coordinating time and place.
