How they met
First, a small background on the royal couple's relationship. They started dancing in the summer of 2016. The Prince and Markle said so much in their first sit-down interview with BBC after their engagement announcement in November 2017.
They were created by a mutual friend whose identity remains not to be confirmed. The culprit is likely to be Prince Harry's childhood wife, Violet von Westenholz.
"We were actually introduced by a common friend … it was literally …. through her and then we met once and twice back to back two dates in London last July," said Harry in his interview BBC interview with Markle.
Shortly after their quickfire round of days, they traveled together to Botswana, where they "struck under the stars."
The couple told their suggestion story that they had a "cozy evening" at Nottingham cottage "trying to roast a chicken."
"It was so sweet and natural and very romantic," Markle told the BBC. "He got on a knee."
Harry added that he thought he surprised Markle surprised, which she confirmed. Markle told her she said yes right away. "I could hardly let you end up suggesting," Markle said to Harry in the interview.
Harry chimed in with a sweet anecdote that the ring was an afterthought for Markle. He had to ask her if he could put the ring on his finger after accepting his proposal.
