Like it or lump it, we have to wear masks for a long time. Technology and gadgetspopping up everywhere , a completely digital version of the annual technology fair, and it includes products aimed at reducing the friction around the mask wearing.
A beautiful example is Binatone’s MaskFone. It’s a $ 95 (£ 50, AU $ 65) washable N95 mask with a Bluetooth headset inside so you can talk to people on the phone without a mask-muffled voice.
The earplugs are attached to a cable clip that hangs around your ears, and there are buttons for playback, pause, and volume control on the mask itself. The mask also has Siri and Amazon integration, so you can play music with voice control.
Binatone says the Bluetooth headset lasts for 12 hours. So yes, that means you will need to charge your mask.
It is one of many devices on display at CES tailored for COVID-19 life., which included a battery-powered mask with a cleaner inside as well as a portable Puriview Mini cleaner that you can take with you on the go – if you’re into that sort of thing. Existing products have also been updated, including , which is opened with voice command and disinfects water with a UV jet.
