ThedaCare announces child visit restriction in seven hospitals

1; ThedaCare is restricting visits to all seven hospitals as the influenza virus is increasing.

The hospitals are the following: Appleton, Berlin, Neenah, New London, Shawano, Waupaca, and Wild Rose

Beginning Wednesday, February 6, children under the age of 12 will not be able to visit patients.

Only siblings of the sick family member, who do not

This doesn't affect outpatient or clinic services.

Dr. Jennifer Frank, Chief Medical Officer said, "The flu is serious, contagious repiratory illness that is best avoided by staying away from other sick people." She also said, "If possible; wash your hands well, with soap and water to wash away germs that could infect your mouth, nose or eyes; and getting vaccinated."

ThedaCare encourages the community to protect hospitalized patients From exposure to not visiting unless necessary. Visitors are also encouraged to wear masks and wash their hands. ThedaCare also recommends sanitizing hands while at the hospital.
