The first house manager for Big Brother 23, Frenchie French, confused the house when he became a rogue and nominated Kyland Young and Alyssa Lopez. He later claimed he wanted a “big fish” and planned to backdoor Derek Xiao. However, the Power of Veto winner won his plans.
Frenchie nominated Kyland and Alyssa for the first broadcast
Shortly after his Jokers team won the first Head of Household competition, Brendon “Frenchie” French began trying to adapt to people and postpone his goals.
He told a couple of house conventions that he wanted to break the trend of having a woman or a colored person go home first each season and planned to target “alpha-male” types in the house. Therefore, he intended to go after Brent Champagne, but changed his mind due to a deep conversation.

Still targeting “bros”, he briefly switched to Christian Birkenberger until he won safety in the Wildcard competition. Frenchie then went after Derek Xiao and considered him a “guy guy” but wanted to perform a big move and the back door.
Therefore, he claimed he wanted to nominate two women but became rogue and put Kyland Young and Alyssa Lopez on the block. According to the household manager, his new target is Alyssa because he thought she would get into a showmance with Christian. After pleading her case after her appointment, Frenchie hatched a plan for the back door of Derek X.
Who won the season’s first Power of Veto?
HOH met with his newly created slaughterhouse alliance, including his nominees, Christian, Brent, Derek Frazier, Xavier Prather and Whitney Williams.
The group conspired to throw Alyssa Veto so she could pull out of the block, and Frenchie would instead nominate Derek X. and thought they had the votes to throw him over Kyland.
The following day, HOH and his nominees randomly selected the other house guests who would compete against them for Veto’s power. They chose Tiffany Mitchell, Travis Long and Derek X.
Frenchie walked away, calling it “the worst-case scenario,” as none of his allies were elected to the Veto. In the end, Derek X. won the power of Veto and guaranteed his safety.
How did the winner change Frenchie’s intended goals?
Because Frenchie claimed that Derek X. lied about others and placed them in alliances, many housewives turned against him, namely Brent. In addition, his winner destroyed HOH’s large back door plan.
Before the competition, Alyssa talked to Derek X. about using Veto on her if he won, and promised him safety when she became HOH. While he did not agree on anything, he heard her out and asked her to wait until after the competition.

Frenchie and his now-close ally Brent have noted that they would rather leave Kyland over Alyssa, whose nominations remain the same, but Kyland appears to have the votes.
If Derek X. uses Veto on Alyssa, it is currently unclear who Frenchie will line up as a replacement. However, he has previously named “alpha male” type Travis as an option.Older brother broadcast on CBS.
