This year out to a clear start for solar companies.
In the first quarter of 2019, 2.7 gigawatts of solar photovoltaics (PV) were installed – the most solar installation ever installed in the first three months of a year, according to a new report.
US Solar Market Insight Report, a study by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the consulting firm Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables, also predicts a 25 percent growth in 2019 over last year, and it expects more than 13 gigawatts Solar PV installations this year
The couple announced in May that the United States also hit a milestone 2 million solar installations in the first quarter.
"First quarter data and projections for the rest of the year promising for the solar industry," said Abigail Ross Hopper, president and CEO of SEIA. "But if we are to make the kind of progress we need to make the 2020 solar tower, we need to make significant policies and market progress."
Most installations at the beginning of the year came from utility companies, but the housing market also experienced growth.
The US had 603 megawatts of solar heaters in the first three months ̵
"Despite stable installations in the first quarter of 2019, the housing market is still highly dependent on old state markets, such as California and the Northeast, which have only been modest to flat growth over the last few quarters," Wood Mackenzie Sun Analyst Austin Perea.
