The ‘UFO’ seen over New Jersey was really the Goodyear Blimp

An unidentified flying object in the cloud of New Jersey on Monday had residents who thought aliens were about to beam down to Garden State until it was actually identified – as a Goodyear Blimp.

Witnesses on the floor flooded social media with posts showing the iconic blimp resembling a flat spaceship with a light shining from it.

“Eyewitness accounts say a corpse came out of the UFO,” @yahnnisse wrote, noting that the alleged sighting was in Passaic, New Jersey.

Someone on Instagram posted similar video showing cars pulled over what appeared to be Route 21 in North Jersey to get a glimpse of the square’s strangeness.

Another Twitter video of “New Jersey UFO sighting” received more than 555,000 views.

But naysayers were quick to dismiss the extraterrestrial observation – noting that it was none other than Goodyear Blimp flying overhead near MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, where the New York Giants lost 26-16 to the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday night in the season opener.
