The Steelworkers’ Association, which joined Biden’s candidacy in May, has been projecting “bat light” on some of Chicago’s biggest landmarks in recent weeks, including Wrigley Field and the Chicago Theater, according to images on social media.

“Joe Biden may be doing well with union leaders, but President Trump is winning union households,” said Tim Murtaugh, a spokesman for the Trump campaign, as he emailed a comment from The Hill.

“That’s why Biden felt the need to lie about Boilermakers supporting him when they did not, while Boilermakers Local 154 – the largest Boilermakers premises in the country – has actually joined the president,” he added. “EU workers know that President Trump has fought for them, and they also know that Biden’s policies and proposals are a disaster for workers.”

Last year, the former vice president issued a plan to expand union power in the United States, calling, among other things, for the installation of a cabinet level aimed at expanding union representation and collective bargaining rights for workers across the country.

The city’s plan would also remove non-compete clauses and strengthen legislation that punished companies for working against union action.
