JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars closed their facility on Saturday after a training group player tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.
The team said it consulted the NFL and follows NFL protocols and performs football activities remotely.
The Jaguars are scheduled to host the Detroit Lions at 6 p.m. 13 at TIAA Bank Field on Sunday, and the team said in a statement that they still plan to play the game.
The Jaguars said they learned Friday night that the player had tested positive and was given a POC test to confirm the positive result.
The Jaguars have training players who sit together and apart from the other players on the active list during team meetings.
This is the first positive test for a Jaguars player since Ryquell Armstead was placed on the reserve / COVID-1
