The FDA sends warning letters to the Appleton doctor

APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – A doctor in Appleton comes under fire for allegations he makes for certain treatments.

The FDA sent a letter to Dr. Michael Johnson from Optimal Health and Wellness for treatments that he promotes on his website.

Johnson’s company lists several health problems that can be treated with products made from human umbilical cord or stem cells. His website also claims that the company complies with FDA guidelines.

The FDA says he is not complying with the requirements and the treatments are not approved by the FDA.

The agency also says Johnson does not have the correct license to legally market the products he says he uses.

The letter asks Johnson to respond within 30 days, saying his clinic is responsible for ensuring it complies with federal regulations.
