CAIRO (Reuters) – Israeli aircraft measured a military position near the Hama province in Syria on Saturday, but Syrian air defense intercepted and slaughtered some of the rockets the Syrian state television said Saturday.
Referring to military sources, SANA's news agency and Syrian state television said Israeli aircraft had targeted "one of our military positions against the city of Masyaf".
"The enemy missiles were dealt with, and some of them were shot down before reaching their targets, resulting in damage to a few buildings and the damage of three fighters," SANA added.
Since the civil war has begun, Israel has carried out many military strikes in Syria against suspicion of arms transfers and propagation by Iranian forces and their Lebanese Hezbollah allies supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
