The co-creator of Swords & swords, Superbrothers, released new details about their sci-fi games, Jett: Far Shore to Sony’s State of Play Thursday. Superbrothers creates the game in partnership with Pine Scented. A PlayStation blog on the game has an expanded trailer as well as lots of new gameplay details.
The game looks like a more introspective experience of sci-fi exploration. You play as Mei, a scientist who is part of a group of aerospace scientists who go on an interstellar trip and arrive at an ocean planet. “We were striving to create a video game to express our own feelings of awe when we looked up at the starry sky,”
The new look showed a deeper dive into the gameplay. IN Jett, you fly a lot; you control your spaceship in the third person and weave your way through trees and obstacles. As you explore, you will also be able to leave your ship and explore the land on foot in the first person.
The trailer explains that the game is not dependent on combat or resource extraction. You get the opportunity to respect the planet’s original wildlife. Overall, it looks like a far more peaceful, less violent pursuit of an exploration game – a genre that has historically pushed players to reap as much as possible from the country.
Jett: Far Shore was originally announced in June 2020. Since then, the studio has said the game would be delayed until 2021. It is still scheduled for release in 2021 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and on PC via Epic Games Store.
