Trains of Starlink satellites seen over northern Texas
There is a perfectly good explanation for the strange trail of light that many people saw in the sky over North Texas last night.
DALLAS – SpaceX used several of its Starlink Internet satellites in orbit and created quite a bit of excitement for people who were outdoors in North Texas.
Sixty satellites were on top of the second phase of the rocket that took off from Cape Canaveral, Florida on Wednesday night.

About 10,000 people in the northernmost latitudes are already using the service.
Some people in North Texas who were outdoors around 6 p.m. 21 Wednesday, saw a train of Starlink satellites overhead.
One viewer said it looked like a perfect formation of UFOs.

The satellites travel closely together for the first few days after launch. They eventually disperse and enter a higher trajectory, making them less visible.
If there is clear sky again on Thursday night, they may be visible traveling from northwest to south just before noon. 21
