Danny Wimmer Presents has announced the US Drive-In Tour featuring Aaron Lewis of Staind and Sully Erna of Godsmack. The two front figures perform their hits together, side by side, during an intimate and non-stick evening.
Live shows begin Oct. 1 at Starlite Drive-In in Wichita, Kansas, followed by stops in Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois and more. The tour is scheduled to end Nov. 1 with a performance at Del Mar Fairgrounds in Southern California.
“Sully and I have been friends for 25 years. We’ve been talking about doing something for the last 10 years,” Lewis said in a release. “The time has finally come. I could not be more excited to bring this to you in such strange times.”
“Me and Aaron Lewis? On stage together … acoustic? Do I need to say more? “Erna said in a release.” Just do not miss it! It can never happen again. ”
Tour producers Danny Wimmer Presents have worked closely with both artists and all venues to create a live concert environment that brings rock fans together in unique settings that promote social distance for a safe experience. The nationwide hike follows current local health guidelines for fans’ safety and enjoyment. Some shows will be run-in events with patrons in or next to their cars, and other shows will look from socially distant fan “pods” or tables designed for up to four people.
“We’re eager to get back to what we love, and we’m determined to keep the music alive and keep the rock community strong in these times,” said the DWP resident. Joe Litvag in a release. “Aaron and Sully on stage together like this is something that neither of us has seen before, but has always hoped that one day it would happen. We are excited to be a part of it. ”
Tickets go on sale at noon local time. See a complete list of tour dates below.
