Sony has released its financial forecast for the fiscal year 2019 (basically the next 12 months), and its figures suggest that the PS5 will not launch before April 2020. We already know that the next -gen console isn't going to release this year – Sony has said so – but there's been speculation about whether it'll hit in early 2020. So when will the PS5 launch? It remains a difficult question to answer with total confidence, but from where we're sitting, a late 2020 release is looking more and more likely. Of course, a lot of this guesswork is going to depend on what else Sony has planned for the remainder of this year. With E3 coming up and Sony not in attendance, it'll be very interesting to see what the Japanese giant has up its sleeve.
