Sonos gets its week started with a new hardware message – the revelation of a new collection of indoor and outdoor passive speakers installed, all designed for use with the Sonos amplifier. Two of the three speakers – in the wall and ceiling variants – are available for pre-order from Sonos.com today, with general availability starting later this month, while the general availability of Sonos Outdoor by Sonance comes in April. According to the company, Sonos and Sonance went together to produce a speaker series that "disappears in any room" and it also provides high-quality clear sound. Architectural speakers should, as the name suggests, blend seamlessly into what the surrounding architecture is like ̵
"Our goal was to create a solution optimized for installers who bring Sono's experience to architectural speakers for the first time," says Patrick Spence, CEO of Sonos. "Sonance was the natural partner who shares our passion for high quality, reliable sound solutions inside and outside the home."
When connecting Sonos Architectural Sonic speakers to Sonos Amp, it includes an app that works with the great streaming services as well as AirPlay 2 controls. In addition, up to three pairs of Sonos Architectural from Sonance speakers can be powered by a single Sonos amplifier. In terms of pricing, both built-in and built-in speakers are set at $ 599 per. Couple. The outdoor speakers are slightly pricier, at $ 799 a couple – and are again designed to withstand humidity, water, heat, UV rays and freezing temperatures, in addition to salt spray.
