When Celtics traded Matisse Thybulle, the 20th election in 2019 NBA Draft, to 76ers, Boston acquired both the 24th and 33th picks of this year's draft. Celtics then traded the 24th election, Ty Jerome and Aaron Baynes to the Phoenix Suns.
But Celtics chose to keep the 33rd pick and took Purdue Point Guard Carsen Edwards.
Having shot 40.6 percent from three and 45.8 percent from the floor in 2017-18, Edwards took a step back in 2018-19, shot 35.5 percent from deep and 39.4 percent everywhere – despite an average of 24.3 points per career average game. He also averaged to steal a game or more in every season with Boilermakers. 6-foot-1
