After a day of worth of online arguments and speculations about the identity of the next King of Fighters 15 character through their mysterious silhouette, we finally have our answer, and that’s good.
SNK revealed tonight that Shermie will join the growing list via a new gameplay trailer for KOF1
Shermie makes its first playable appearance in the mainline KOF series since way back in 2002: Unlimited Match, and the developers have updated its appearance and gameplay now for the HD era.
As you might expect from the classic fighter, her command grip and hit grab are still very much here and part of her core game plan plus it’s a little hard not to get hyped up to see a quadruple German Suplex come out in the new game.
The gripping musician’s signature flip and aerial acrobatics are also definitely present in her latest incarnation, so you’ll have to look at the sky as well as the grips come your way.
When we previously received Yashiro Nanakase’s announcement a few weeks back, this confirms anything but that their third partner in crime, Chris, will also be joining the game to complete the original Team New Faces from KOF97.
Previously, the entire team had remained dead for two decades after sacrificing itself to awaken Orochi again through Chris as host, but he ended up being sealed again by Team Sacred Treasures.
The events of the story of KOF14 and the defeat of Verse brought Shermie, Yashiro and Chris back to the living worlds, and it seems they are ready to fight again – this time probably on the good side.
You can check out Shermie’s debut trailer below along with some beautiful 4K screenshots.
