NetherRealm Studios has unveiled the first DLC sign that comes to Mortal Kombat 11: the master role, Shang Tsung. During a panel on the C2E2, a video with the character was shown, and surprisingly confirmed that he will be based on the version seen in the 1995 film.
In the Mortal Kombat movie, Shang Tsung was played by actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, and his likeness has been used for his latest iteration. Besides being Mortal Kombat 11's first DLC character, Shang Tsung will also serve as a host, narrator and guide to players when they enter the crypt.
Tsung is one of six playable games that will be released as part of the Mortal Kombat 11's Kombat Pack. A price for this DLC bundle has not been released, nor is there any word about whether the characters in it are released individually. We know that the Kombat Pack is included in both Premium and Collector versions of the game.
During the stream NetherRealm also showed Noob Saibot, which can be played in Mortal Kombat 11. Unlike Shang Tsung, he will be part of the giant star of warriors and thus available from the start when you buy the game.
For those who are eager to get their hands on the game, a Mortal Kombat 11 beta will start on Wednesday, March 27 at. 8.00 PT. It runs through Sunday, March 31st at. 2359 PT and is open to anyone who pre-ordered a copy of the game on PS4 or Xbox One. Beta has five playable characters: Baraka, Jade, Solitaire, Scarlet, and Scorpion. The full characteristics are much more expansive, and we expect more warriors to be announced at the head of the release.
If you pre-order, you also get the Shao Kahn as a playable character when the game is released to PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch on April 23.
