Bungie has lifted the auction on the latest round of Destiny 2 content in Season of the Drifter. As the director Luke Smith says, the developers are starting to figure out what the roadmap for a Bungie-controlled Destiny looks like. And indeed, though this content was likely in development well before the split between Bungie and Activision, this will be the first full set of releases since the developer took control.
The season naturally focuses on the titular drives (properly revealed as a form dredgen) and brings new stuff across the various modes. The most notable additions are Gambit Prime – a more intense version of the mode with armor aimed at helping players get specific roles ̵
Those both launch on March 5, and playing your first match of Gambit Prime will open up Reckoning, which will turn into a new armor for Gambit Prime. Further tiers of Reckoning and new maps for Gambit Prime will unlock throughout March. March 12 will start the quest to unlock Thorn in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 updates will continue under new management, and Bungie also snuck in one more major detail on what to expect: the third update for the year, due to start in June, is set to be titled Season of Opulence.
