Roman Reigns retained his WWE Universal Championship against Braun Strowman at SmackDown after catching him with a guillotine, leading to a submission victory:

Reigns won the title with Goldberg as a member of the virtual audience at ThunderDome.

The champion got off to a hot start with a Superman battle when his cousin and hell in a Cell opponent Jey Uso saw from behind:

Strowman eventually went on the offensive, but threw Reigns over the advertiser table and beat him over the fan barricade:

The match almost looked like Strowman chokeslammed Reigns:

However, Reigns later thwarted a Strowman maneuver in a guillotine choke. Despite the big man’s best efforts, he slowly weakened before losing by submission.

After the fight, Uso came to the ring, and Reigns begged his cousin to sit with him, end their feud, and renounce hell in a cell fight. He then asked Uso to attack Strowman, as Reigns had just brutally done so with a spear and a chair after the match.

Instead, Uso Reigns, who quickly got him back before the show faded to black, attacked:

The two cousins’ hell in a cell match on Sunday, October 25, will include an “I Quit” provision marking the first time a HIAC match has shown it.
