According to the latest report from a news channel, the bail petitions of Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty can be filed by lawyer Satish Maneshinde in Bombay High Court today. Both Rhea and Showik were sent into custody after the Narcotic Control Bureau arrested them in drug connection related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s case.
According to the latest developments in the drug case of Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty, their lawyer Satish Maneshinde is likely to file their bail in Bombay High Court today. Earlier, the Sessions Court had rejected Rhea and Showik’s bail after the Narcotics Control Bureau had opposed it. Post that both Rhea and Showik were sent into custody for 14 days along with Samuel Miranda, Dipesh Sawant and other drug dealers Zaid Vilatra and more. Now as in the latest report from Times Now, their lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, may be submitting a plea for bail in Bombay HC today.
According to the Times Now report, the Bombay High Court processes bail applications on two days, which are Monday and Thursday. When the Sessions Court ruling dismissing Rhea and Showik’s bail was served on their lawyer on Monday, they apparently could not file a bail. However, Rhea and Showik’s lawyer are likely to oppose the judgment of the Sessions Court on their bail applications today and may file a bail in Bombay High Court today. Both Rhea and Showik were arrested by NCB in connection with alleged drug chats in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
Further, the report also stated that Zaid Vilatra, the drug dealer arrested by the NCB, is also expected to challenge the remand under section 482 via video conference in the Bombay High Court. While Rhea and Showik’s bail was rejected by the Sessions Court, their lawyer is likely to file a plea of bail in Bombay HC for an urgent hearing so they could have time on Thursday for their application. According to the news channel’s report, if that does not happen, they may be able to apply for a date next Monday. Rhea is currently in Byculla jail after being arrested due to the alleged drug syndicate connection.
Meanwhile, according to reports, Jaya Saha and Shruti Modi have also been summoned by NCB today as their names are also cut up in the alleged drug chats revealed by the Enforcement Agency with Rhea and Showik. Meanwhile, the CBI investigation into Sushant’s death is underway, and the ED is investigating the money laundering angle that KK Singh claims in his FIR. Sushant Singh Rajput died on June 14, 2020 in his house in Mumbai.
