The attempt at Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher – accused of killing a wounded ISIS prisoner of war in Iraq – is a "disgrace" according to a co-worker.
Speaking Thursday after a doctor surprisingly claimed he killed the fighter by choking him, retired American army Tyler Merritt told Sandra Smith about "The Story," the testimony proves Gallagher's innocent.
"Blatant – obviously he hasn't murdered anyone," he said. "If there is another person who said they had strangled a wounded champion, it is a little difficult for Eddie to be guilty of murder."

"Why did you kill him?" Gallagher lawyer Timothy Parlatore asked Scott during the trial Thursday in San Diego.
"Because I knew he was going to die anyway," replied Scott. "I wanted to save him from what would happen next to him."
Merritt – who served at Gallagher – slammed the charges against the officer.

"You ask Navy SEALs to go to foreign countries and do bad things to bad people, and it's a bad person … it's a military man , "he told Smith.
"Whatever everyone Eddie did not murder this person. He is an honorable man and what has happened here is an absolute travesty."
Gallagher, 40, has not claimed guilty of biased murders and aggravated charges like resulting from the alleged killing and alleged case of firing of sniper races with civilians in Iraq.
