Release date, specifications, price and more

OnePlus 8T is just around the corner. The truth must be, not much information appeared up to this point, but we have some info to share with you. Before we begin, it is worth noting that the phone’s code name is ‘Kebab’. In fact, the OnePlus 8T may be the only member of the 8T series this year. According to some information from a well-known tipster, the 8T Pro model does not start at all. Truth be told, some conflicting information emerged about it.

The OnePlus 8T Pro Wizard was discovered on the company’s website recently. It suggested that the ‘8T Pro’ model might arrive after all. We can not say anything for sure yet, but considering that 8T Pro has not been mentioned elsewhere. We still believe that the 8T will be the only model. That would make sense for the company as the OnePlus 7T was far, far more successful than the 7T Pro. 7T Pro was almost identical to 7 Pro, while 7T brought a lot of bang for your buck.

7;re really not sure what OnePlus can do this year to make the 8T Pro stand out, which is why we think the 8T will be the only variant. It probably combines the best of OnePlus 8 smartphones and combines it into one device. Some information about that phone was already leaking, which we talk about below.

This article will be regularly updated with new information about the OnePlus 8T (this is a preview) – both official teasers and credible leaks, rumors and insider claims – as it becomes available during the run up to the release of the upcoming Android smartphone. The last update was made on September 15th.

OnePlus 8T can feature fan-favorite flat screen unlike its siblings

When it comes to phone design, it looks good as OnePlus 8 phones, but not for the same. One device appeared in OnePlus’ recent software update, the Android 11 Developer Preview 4 update for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. It could just be a placeholder image, but it might not be. You can check it out under this section. As you can see, the phone looks pretty much like the other two devices, even though it has a flat screen, not a curved one. However, we can only see its front page here.

Now comes a much better leak from Pricebaba. The site, in collaboration with OnLeaks, shared a bunch of OnePlus 8T renderings. These are CAD-based renderings and show the phone from virtually all sides. You can also see the back of the phone, including its camera module. This camera module will look different this time and be located in the upper left corner of the back of the phone. The phone contains four cameras on the back, it seems.

The device includes a screen camera hole in the upper left corner, the same as on the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Its frame is extremely thin and it seems that the bottom frame is not thicker than the rest at all. The on / off button is located on the right side, as is the alarm slider located above the on / off key. The volume up and down buttons can be found on the left. The corners of the phone are rounded, as are its screen corners. This smartphone will almost certainly be made of metal and glass, just like the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.

Large 120Hz screen, fast charging and 5G

The OnePlus 8T is expected to be the most powerful smartphone in the company’s lineup, but it will not be much more powerful than the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. OnePlus can even create a phone that is on the same level as the OnePlus 8 Pro or even slightly inferior in some ways. In any case, we expect to see the Snapdragon 865 Plus on the inside of this phone. A recent rumor suggested that the Snapdragon 865 might be included instead, but that’s not so likely. OnePlus will almost certainly look to include the latest and greatest SoC here.

In addition, we get a fullHD + screen with a high refresh rate. The specifications for the OnePlus 8T are expected to include a flat screen that appears to measure 6.55 inches. This will be a 120Hz display, so it will be an improvement over what the OnePlus 8 had to offer. The phone is also expected to include 8 GB / 12 GB RAM with 128 GB / 256 GB internal storage. Just to be ready, you can not expand the warehouse.

Android 11 is likely to come pre-installed on the device along with OnePlus’ OxygenOS 11 skin. The phone will offer 5G support and an NFC chip will be included. The device supports fast charging, but we still do not know how fast it will be. By the way, wireless charging is also expected. It could include the same wired and wireless charging as the OnePlus 8 Pro, in fact, if not faster. By the way, the OnePlus 8 Pro offers 30W fast wired and wireless charging.

A 48-megapixel or 64-megapixel main camera

Some information about this phone’s camera setup came out in July. An APK breakdown revealed that the phone will include a 64-megapixel device (Sony IMX689 sensor). This camera probably uses pixel capture to create 16 megapixel end product images. Some other information claims that the phone will include the same main camera as the OnePlus 8 Pro, a 48-megapixel device (IMX686 from Sony).

The latter scenario is more likely if we are honest. OnePlus is likely to reuse what it contained in the OnePlus 8 Pro, and that sensor is quite powerful. As a reminder, the OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a newer 48-megapixel sensor compared to the OnePlus 8, actually significantly newer. With the right software, that sensor can take excellent pictures, as OnePlus proved with the OnePlus 8 Pro.

So in addition to the 48 megapixel camera, you can expect to see a 16 megapixel ultra-wide camera. A 5-megapixel macro device is also expected to be included, as is a 2-megapixel portrait camera. A 32-megapixel front camera is rumored to be included on the front.

The phone is likely to be significantly more expensive than the OnePlus 7T was last year

Okay, and what about phone availability and pricing? Well, OnePlus 7T was launched in September and it also became available in September. Everything that happened at the end of the month. We currently have no information on the launch of this phone, but it will launch either in late September or in October. At least that’s our guess. By the way, the phone will be available for purchase soon after launch. The OnePlus 8T is also expected to offer a truly compelling price.

There is only so much OnePlus can do when it comes to price, so remember that. This is actually one of the reasons why OnePlus might consider using Snapdragon 865 instead of Snapdragon 865 Plus. There is a small chance of that, but OnePlus may seem to save as much cash as possible. The OnePlus 7T was quite affordable for what it offered, but do not expect such a price on this device. The OnePlus 8T is likely to be significantly more expensive than its predecessor. We do not want to give predictions just yet, but it will not be cheap, that’s for sure.
