It appears Prince William was the only member of the royal family who reportedly had reservations about Prince Harry marrying American actress Meghan Markle.
Prince Philip, Harry's grandfather, is said to have his grandson, "one step Out with Actresses, One Doesn't Have Them, "The UK's Sunday Times reported. Philip, 98, allegedly made the remarks as Harry's relationship with Meghan intensified. The couple announced their engagement in November 2017 and tied the knot last May.
Harry, 34, who celebrated his first Father's Day on Sunday after welcoming son Archie with Meghan, 37, last month, also endured a "challenging" time with brother William, 36, as the Duke of Cambridge "was concerned about how quickly the relationship" between his younger sibling and the former "Suits" actress progressed, by royal expert Katie Nicholl.
"William wanted to make sure that Harry was making the right decision, ”Nicholl recently told Fox News. "And I think what was meant as well-meaning, brotherly concern and a bit of advice went down quite badly with Harry, who felt that William was not as supportive as he might have been. So there has been tensions between the brothers. ”
Though there is a distance between the brothers, as Harry and Meghan relocated from Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage ahead of Archie's birth, William does recognize the impact Meghan has had on his brother "I think William says how happy Meghan makes Harry," Nicholl explained. “I think he's quite impressed by Meghan, her work ethic, how quickly she's adapted to royal life. Of course… the jury is still out. But actually, I think William has realized that Meghan is probably the best thing to happen to Harry. ”
