Authorities in Mississippi announced Monday that a pregnant woman who reportedly had been found Friday has been found dead roughly six miles from an intersection where her car was discovered Friday.
Holmes County Sheriff Willie March said Makayla Winston, 21, who was nine months pregnant, was found on Franklin Road. Winston left her home in Goodman and did not return, according to WJTV.
Winston's family said she was due to give birth on July 4. The slain woman's mother previously customs WLBT that she was on her way to show the baby's father

The discovery of the expectant mother's body comes after her car was reportedly located at the intersection Highway 1
"We understood that there was a white vehicle parked behind her, child or like an SUV. But no one knows who was driving the SUV, ”March previously said. The Clarion Ledger reported that investigators are in the process of trying to recover text messages from the phone.
Authorities have not identified any suspects and Winston's death remains under investigation.
