The pregnant Hilary Duff revealed that she was “exposed” to COVID-19 and quarantined as a result.
That Younger star, 33, who is currently expecting her third child, took to her Instagram stories Saturday to tell what happened. “Exposed to COVID. Quarantine Day 2 Fml, ”Duff wrote a selfie following instructions from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for 14 days quarantine in case of exposure.
According to the CDC, pregnant women have an increased risk of serious COVID-19 disease along with other complications, such as premature birth. The organization recommends that pregnant women follow the same preventive measures as non-pregnant people: Practice social distance, wash hands and wear face masks. “Pregnancy causes changes in respiratory physiology and translates to lower thresholds for necessary medical attention,” said Dr. Amesh A. Adalja, senior researcher at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, formerly of Yahoo Life.
Last month, Duff revealed that she was expecting her second child with her husband Matthew Koma. “We are growing !!! Mostly me … ”Duff captioned an Instagram video that contained Coma that rubbed his stomach lovingly.
The couple, who got married in December, have a 2-year-old daughter named Banks Violet. While Duff shares son Luca Cruz, 8, with ex-husband Mike Comrie.
Duff has done his best to protect himself throughout the pandemic and even posted on Instagram about “Karen will not wear masks” during the July 4th holiday.
“We took two trips today,” Duff wrote in his post, sharing a family photo. “Took a family nap. Took a drive. Drove by a furious house party on Mulholland. As. No masks (of course). Girls in swimsuits and Louboutins waiting to enter as a line in a club. ”
