NEW ORLEANS (AP) – New Orleans police say that a man came into a fast food restaurant and tried to push some money, but could not open the register so he knocked off a little fried chicken instead.
NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports that the man entered Popeyes in eastern New Orleans on Monday morning and tried to steal money from the registry. But the police say the registry would not bend, so he grabbed some fried chickens and fled.
Police arrested 27-year-old Phillip Lee shortly afterwards in the area. He faces charges of simple robbery and simple battery.
Magistrate Judge Brigid Collins put his ties at $ 1
