Investigators in Philadelphia continue to search for the cargo ship, where they foundon Tuesday in what is called one of the greatest drug bugs in American history. The officials told CBS News that there could be 30 tons more on board.
What they have found so far is more than 34,000 pounds of cocaine with a street value of over a billion dollars. Officials say seven containers on the cargo ship transported the substances.
The duck's fellow man and a crew member have been arrested and charged, admitting that they helped load the cocaine on the ship from more than a dozen other boats at sea.
MSC Gayane had traveled from Chile to Peru, heading from Panama and the Bahamas before docking in Philadelphia. It was coming to the Netherlands next.
The ship is owned by the Mediterranean Shipping Company, which, in a statement, said, "Shipping companies are unfortunately affected by trade problems. From time to time, the MSC has a long history of co-operation with law enforcement."
Law enforcement is expected to provide more information Thursday that a search for containers on the ship is completed.
