PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Philadelphia is called singer Patti LaBelle with her very own street earlier this week. Unfortunately, the signs have not got their name right.
The city's street department did not capitalize "b" on the legendary souls' s surname on the characters that were erected before Tuesday's ceremony on Broad Street. A stretch between Locust and Spruce streets was renamed "Patti LaBelle Way" in honor of Philadelphia Natives.
City spokeswoman Deana Gamble tells The Philadelphia Inquirer City is aware of the error and plans to install signs with the correct capitalization. 19659002] A sign that LaBelle was autographed and held during the ceremony had the correct spelling.
She thanked all the fans who came out to the ceremony and recalled that the parents were walking down the great stretch of Broad Street.
