The latest in the evolving and escalating conflict between Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers may be the craziest part of reported news yet.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Packers receiver Jake Kumerow released before the season last year “ran Rodgers nuts”
Rodgers now wants out of Green Bay, though the Packers are obligated not to deal with him.
According to Rapoport, Rodgers wants more input into staff decisions.
Accident with the team’s decision on Kumerow’s roster status in early September last year looks like another crumb of bread in the track leading up to this point.
The Packers surprisingly released Kumerow during the final cuts, and only a day later, Rodgers publicly praised the veteran recipient, describing him as a list of lists. The team decided to keep Malik Taylor over Kumerow, who was Rodger’s favorite.
“Jake Kumerow has been such a solid performer for us for the last couple of years,” Rodgers told Sirius XM NFL Radio via PackersNews.com. “I love his reliability. I think he is an amazing, stable player who is very intoxicating on the pitch he plays. He plays with a lot of confidence and he is a guy you love to have on the team. ”
Kumerow caught 20 passes for 322 yards and two touchdowns over two seasons at Green Bay. He was originally signed to the team’s training team in December 2017.
