The only two residents of a small Italian town take no chances with coronavirus.
Giovanni Carilli, 82, and Giampiero Nobili, 74, have no neighbors and rarely leave the largely abandoned town of Nortiesce, but they strictly adhere to the country’s COVID-19 rules and insist on wearing masks and staying at least a meter apart at all times.
“I’m scared to death of the virus,” Carilli told CNN. “If I get sick, I’m alone, who’s looking after me? I’m old, but I will continue to live here and take care of my sheep, vines, beehives and orchard. Hunting for truffles and mushrooms. I’m enjoying my life. ”
