A large group of biz owners in Erie County, NY called the local government bluff as they tried to close their meeting … and sent Johnny Law packing.
This went down Friday night at a CrossFit gym called Athletes Unleashed in Orchard Park – not too far from Buffalo – where up to 100 local businessmen and women gathered to discuss how to navigate the state’s new COVID-19 Guidelines … which in turn limit opening hours, customers and access in NY.
While these people held their meeting – with most people not wearing masks – officials from the Erie County Sheriff and Health Dept. their way in and tried to disperse the crowd … and said they were in conflict Gov.. Cuomo‘s new rule for 10 people or less for public gatherings.
What happened next is nothing short of shocking … the audience actually stood in their place and demanded that the police and county workers beat it – which they did.
They were chased off in a dramatic way, with the angry mob whistling “Come out!” and “We do not comply!” as they followed the sheriff’s deputies and others out into the parking lot and all the way back to their vehicles … like dogs with their tails between their legs. It’s worth seeing – the police are pretty much folding.
This also raises a serious question – what kind of powers does law enforcement actually have in trying to enforce state-mandated rules ??? We reached out to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office for further comments … no word left yet.
