The Dominican Republic's minister there was nothing unusual about the recent deaths of eight American tourists
All of them died of natural causes, Francisco Javier García told reporters Friday.
“We want the truth to prevail , "García said. "There is nothing to hide here."
Friends and family members of the deceased have voiced their suspicions.
"He was healthy as a horse." Said Bernadette Hiller, whose friend Chris Palmer died in the DR in April . "As soon as he died, I wondered if he was poisoned, if he was drugged."
Nine tourists have died in the Caribbean nation in recent months. Police are investigating whether they were poisoned by counterfeit booze, The Post previously reported.
