CROMWELL, CT (WFSB) – Cromwell Police had a Quality Inn locked for several hours during their investigation.
The crime band is down, and during the late hours of the night, the police investigation was completed, which revealed that there was no armed person or active shooter.
For hours, hotel guests were unsure of what was going on.
The timeline shows that police received a 911 call around 6 p.m.
Cromwell Police requested mutual assistance from neighboring towns and the state.
Officers conducted a sweep and found no one who matched the report, yet they reviewed the information and interviewed people.
Crews rushed a person to the hospital for unrelated injuries, but he is expected to be okay.
During the investigation, an eyewitness relives the moments when officers arrived.
“The alarm went off. We immediately evacuated the hotel. I have seen firearms enter the hotel. Some of the police had firearms in the air,” eyewitness Sharon Mills tells us.
Police say the investigation shows that neither a man nor an armed man were fired.
