Earlier this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left royal life to become “financially independent”. The couple moved to the United States after discussions with the Queen to determine what terms the couple would leave the company.
However, Lady Colin Campbell, author of Meghan and Harry: The Real Story, has claimed that the Duke and Duchess were already trying to make “commercial deals” before their departure.
In a speech to the Daily Star, Ms Campbell said: “Some of the commercial offers I heard about were ridiculous.
“I thought the royal family could not accept this.”
The author claimed that Meghan led the couple̵
Mrs Campbell said: “Meghan cut a notch through Harry’s social life, she did not approve of this, she did not approve of it, she is the operator.”
She added that tensions between Meghan and other royals began about four days after the couple’s marriage.
According to the author, the royal family – and especially the queen – did not allow the couple to take advantage of the fact that they were royal.
Mrs Campbell said Her Majesty would never have let them “have their cake and eat it too”, so the couple could only agree on the offers if they resigned.

Meghan and Harry later released a statement to confirm the news.
The statement reads: “Our lives, both independently of each other and as couples, have enabled us to understand the power of the human spirit: courage, resilience, and the need for connection.
“Through our work with different societies and their environments, to shine a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.
“As new parents, it’s also important for us to do inspiring family programming, just as it is powerful storytelling through a truthful and coherent lens.”
