Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees will match up to beat their MLB set on Monday.
The rays come from a set against the angels over the weekend. Tampa won the Friday version of the set but fell Thursday and Saturday. In Sunday's game, Tampa performed a 6-5 victory.
On Monday, Tampa sends out Yonny Chirinos to the start. Chirinos are 7-2 with a 2.88 ERA and 62 Ks this year.
On the Yankees side, they come from a weekend seen in relation to the White Sox. New York dropped the first two games in that series and won Saturday. In the Sunday finals, the Yankees got a 1
New York joins Masahiro Tanaka at the start Monday. Over his 83.0 innings and 4-5 record this year, Tanaka has a 3.58 ERA with 74 Ks and 19 BBs.
The rays are 22-4 in their last 26 Monday games and 16-6 in their last 22 in the game one of a series. They are 4-1 in Tampa's last five Monday games.
Meanwhile, the Yankees 4-0 are in their last four Monday games and 43-19 in their last 62 in battle one of a series. New York is 2-6 in Tanaka's last eight starts with five days of rest and 35-16 in his last 51 start.
After a round of four equal quality, Tanaka begins to be a little shaken by his last trio. At that time he is hosted up 12 earned over a 18.2 innings span and is only 1-2 record-wise.
If New York is to rely on an aging Tanaka to go six pluses in each start, they will have a bad time I stick with Tampa Bay here.
