Sony Interactive Entertainment and SIE Santa Monica Studio have unveiled a new God of War game – tentatively called God of War 2 – for PS5, the follow-up to the 2018s god of war reboot, and the latter’s first game since 2018, as it is not only aired by the highest rated PS4 games, but one of the highest rated games ever. Given the reboot’s reception, both critical and commercial, a sequel was inevitable, but it’s still good to finally hear about the game in an official capacity. And as you might expect, the game is under development exclusively for PS5, which means you̵
As expected, Sony Santa Monica accompanied all this with the game’s debut trailer and our first ever look at the PS5 Kratos, which looks immeasurably better than the debut Kratos, also known as the PS2 Kratos. Of course, the character is also very different from the original Kratos.
god of war as a series began in 2005 via David Jaffe, Sony Santa Monica and of course the PS2. Since then, it has been one of PlayStation’s biggest and best series, though its relevance stumbled before the 2018 restart, not only drastically changing the game’s tone, but putting the series back on top of the industry where it really hadn’t been since 2005.
God of War 2 is only under development for PS5 and PS5. If you have not already done so, check out the 2018s god of war. Not only is it one of PS4’s best games, but it’s gotta be played to jump into the sequel.
“I can not wait for you all to take this journey,” reads an excerpt from our official review of the 2018 game. “It may sound grossly hyperbolic, but I feel quite confident in saying so god of warand the story it tells belongs with many of the greatest works of modern fiction across any medium. It really is one of the great fantasy adventures of our lives, and one that I foresee we will all return to in the years to come. “
God of War 2 is scheduled for release sometime in 2021.
