Netflix moves into e-commerce with the launch of online store



On Thursday, Netflix announced the launch of its e-commerce touch with Netflix.shop, an online store that will sell exclusive limited edition products inspired by Netflix shows and made in partnership with upcoming artists.

The shop has clothes, toys and games. In June, the new online store will release clothing and action figures based on the anime series “Yasuke” and “Eden.” Items made in collaboration with the Musée du Louvre and inspired by Netflix’s original series “Lupine” are also falling this month.

The store will initially only be available in the United States before being expanded to other countries.

As of Thursday afternoon, the site appeared to be offline, possibly suggesting a high traffic frequency. The Hill has reached out to Netflix for comment.

“We’m excited to give fans a new way to connect with their favorite stories and introduce them to the next wave of artists and designers embracing the power of storytelling in all its forms,” ​​Netflix said.

As The New York Times reports, this new effort is led by Josh Simon, who runs the company’s consumer products and joined Netflix in March 2020. Under Simon’s leadership, Netflix has partnered with retailers such as Walmart, Amazon, Target and Sephora.
